SCRATCH Labs Residency: Periphery light box

Presented at Caraboo Projects, Bristol as part of SCRATCH Labs, a one-week residency curated by Jack Friswell, John O’Hare and Polly Maxwell.

I created a light box with a concave face intended to occupy the viewers entire field of vision when viewed from directly in front of the piece. The work uses 1,400 individually addressable LEDs controlled via a microprocessor that is linked to an iPad. Various slowly shifting colour fields were programmed to animate in sequence and were designed to give the viewer an intense experience of colour.

The other artists featured in the residency were Richard Allen, Christopher Earley, Happynings, and Frances Kelly.
