More Experiments with Hole punching and thoughts on Collage.

What interests me about this experiment is that the hole punch gathers a fragment of visual data that can only be partially decoded - The communication function is left  in the remaining whole.

Systematically combining fragments together creates a new whole. But it is shattered and glitched, like ten different jigsaws mixed together and assembled in the dark.

The hole punches are like tiny DNA snippets joined together into a mutated billboard.

"collage is the perfect medium for coming to terms with a culture saturated in images, both printed and online. “Today’s collage artists carve out fragments from this frenzy and force the disparate pieces to become one,”

- James Gallagher quoted by Rick Poynor in this Design Observer's article.
