Brownian

120 x 120 cm | acrylic and airbrush on linen | 2019

This experimental painting uses airbrushed pigment and fluid pigments on a textured surface created by mixing pumice with acrylic medium.

The marks in this painting were created by applying inks to an acetate sheet which repels the fluid, causing it to pool and separate. These marks were transposed from micro to macro scale by using an overhead projector to translate the marks onto the canvas. The white marks were created by dripping fluid pigment directly onto the canvas.
